Playtime and Popsicles

I had to post a couple of pictures Codi sent me when she was watching Emma for us. These cousins are too cute! Ethan cracks me up, climbing on everything. I'm afraid Emma is not far behind. She climbed a whole flight of stairs today!

Emma has been teething, her top teeth are finally coming in. So we've been letting her suck on popsicles to ease the pain a little. She graciously showed us her tongue afterwards.

Swimming and Dancing

Grandma Postma bought Emma a splash pool last week. She sure has fun in it! This baby loves water. The pictures aren't the greatest, but you get the idea.

I've been trying for weeks to get a video of her dancing. She always stops when she sees the camera out. So I took a video from behind. She has two forms of dancing, waving the arms and shaking the head. This is the waving the arms version. Sorry for no sound, I don't have a real camcorder and just take soundless videos on my digital camera.

It's Official!

No we are not pregnant... we started a business!

Bert has one more year of school left (totally paid for by a number of scholarships by the way, he is such a good student!), I'm tired of working full time, so we decided to start a home-based bookkeeping business to get us through this last year. After much research, thought, and prayers, we created EMA Consulting, LLC and just got everything finalized this week.

So if you know anyone in the South Jordan area who owns a small business and is looking for a bookkeeper, send them my way!

Emma's Birthday

It's hard to believe that Emma is one! She turned one on July 2nd, and for those of you who don't know, that's Bert's birthday as well. Poor guy spent his birthday last year watching me go through 36 hours of labor. She was born at 11:51 pm just in time to share a birthday with him.

Emma as a newborn in the hospital

And one year later, the morning of her birthday. She woke up with her hair sticking up. I just had to laugh, it stuck up all the time as a newborn.

We had a fun party yesterday, and had lots of family come. We had a barbecue at at a nearby park. Lot's of presents!

Dad helping her open some.

And the cake. She loved it!

Emma, cousin Ethan, and Harley, my sister's bulldog. The kids loved him.

Here is one of her new toys. She'll be walking by herself in no time!
